Introduction

Program Foundation — Master’s of Guidance and Counseling
The master’s program is designed to prepare professional counselors with strong theoretical grounding, applied skills, cultural responsiveness, and research-based competencies.

Academic Orientation and Professional Practice

The master’s program is designed to equip students with the ability to integrate theory and practice through innovative approaches, the development of intervention methods, and applied research that provides data-driven and contextual solutions to psychosocial issues in society.

Emphasis on cultural responsiveness encourages students not only to master counseling theories developed in Western contexts, but also to formulate new approaches grounded in local wisdom and the social realities of Indonesia. This orientation strengthens graduates’ capacity to deliver counseling services that are both adaptive and contextually relevant.

Ethics, Leadership, and Global Standards CACREP

Professional ethics and leadership values constitute core pillars of the program. Graduates are expected to act as agents of change who can lead the development of guidance and counseling services within educational institutions, organizations, and broader community settings, grounded in humanistic values, social justice, and scientific integrity.

An integrative and future-oriented psychological approach shapes graduates not only as competent practitioners, but also as reflective leaders capable of managing their own professional growth and contributing to the advancement of the counseling profession.

Quality Assurance: International standards such as CACREP (Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs) serve as important references in curriculum development, covering professional counseling, ethics, social and cultural diversity, as well as research and evaluation to ensure high educational quality and professional consistency.
