The workshop titled “Training on the Use of the CapCut Application in Guidance and Counseling Services” was successfully conducted for guidance and counseling (GC) teachers across Bantul Regency. The activity took place at the 3rd Floor of the Moh. Amien Building, Yogyakarta State University (Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta/UNY). Held from 08:30 to 14:00 WIB, the workshop was part of the Community Service Program under the theme “Innovation in Guidance and Counseling Media for Counseling Services.”

The program was chaired by Dr. Agus Triyanto, M.Pd., with team members Ulvina Rachmawati, M.Pd., Fadhila Malasari Ardini, M.Pd., Widya Juwita Sari, M.Pd., and Ismarini Bekti Setiani, M.Pd. The activity was organized in collaboration with the Junior High School Guidance and Counseling Teachers Association (MGBK SMP) of Bantul Regency.

The training aimed to enhance teachers’ understanding and skills in utilizing the CapCut application to support guidance and counseling services in schools. Through this program, teachers were expected to develop creative digital content to strengthen the implementation of counseling services. A total of 31 junior high school GC teachers from Bantul Regency participated in the workshop.

The event opened with welcoming remarks from Dr. Agus Triyanto, M.Pd. (Head of the PKM DLK Team, Yogyakarta State University), Jumadi, S.Pd. (Head of MGBK SMP Bantul Regency), and Nugroho Eko Setyanto, S.Sos., M.M. (Head of the Bantul Regency Office of Education, Youth, and Sports). The agenda also included the signing of an Implementation Agreement (IA) and Memorandum of Agreement/Cooperation Agreement (MoA/PKS) by the Head of the Bantul Regency Office of Education, Youth, and Sports.

The training featured three speakers. Dr. Agus Triyanto, M.Pd. delivered material on the fundamentals of the CapCut application for guidance and counseling services. Ismarini Bekti Setiani, M.Pd. presented a tutorial on using CapCut to create counseling service content, while Widya Juwita Sari, M.Pd. guided participants through hands-on practice in producing guidance and counseling videos using CapCut.

The workshop was conducted in several stages, including a pre-test, material presentation, question-and-answer sessions, hands-on practice, and a final assessment. The results showed an improvement in participants’ understanding and skills in utilizing CapCut as a supporting medium for school counseling services. Through this activity, it is expected that guidance and counseling teachers will become more creative and innovative in delivering services to students by leveraging digital technology, particularly the CapCut application.
